The sun and the moon rise at different times. The sun rises in the morning, but the moon rises at night. But does it matter which one you witness coming up and going down? Does it matter staying up late, or even early, to witness the pearl-white glow of the moon as it comes down, or the fiery orange-yellow of the sun as it rises up in place? The sun and the moon are both objects of nature, objects of nature we can compare love to. The sun represents the burning, never ending compassion of love- though it may hide behind clouds from time to time (and not even appear at all), you know it is still there. You can sense its presence, though not exactly feel it. Love is like that, like the sun- it’s something bright and burning that sends sparks to our souls and to our loved ones. It’s something that can send the adrenaline rushing through, lighting up our senses and giving us the energy and optimism to get us through our day. The endless blue sky provides us with endless opportunities to let our rays extend, and fill the hearts of everyone with love, love, and more love. At night, when the moon rises, we experience the same thing with love- we can still sense its presence, even in the darkest hour, as the clock chimes twelve and all is dead.
I don’t believe in love at first sight. Why? Because it is something created by fiction that causes a pigment of our imagination to stray away from realistic happenings and moments in life. I believe in love, but I don’t believe in the fact that it can happen at first sight. Ask yourself this question: Do we live in a world so desperate that we fall into the arms of the first available person we fall in “love” with? Or are we simply lacking the adoration and attention we expect from others? Or are we so simply “pressured” to love someone just to look good? Think about it. Love at first sight is highly unrealistic. No, I’m not saying that because I’m a pessimistic person, but because love can’t be based on a person’s appearance, or how they act. Maybe that will count a little for that, but it’s the inside that counts; the inside that you have to take apart and solve, as you get to know the person better. The inside you have to know and understand; the inside you need to love for who he or she is. Love at first sight is what authors and writers put into their stories to make it more interesting. They want their readers to be intrigued and captivated by the story they’ve written, a story that’s set in realistic surroundings, but not so with realistic moments. You can lock your eyes across the room with a random stranger and feel a connection, but honestly, that isn’t love. It’s just a feeling of connection, of being attracted in some way. Love is something more pure than that, much more pure and beautiful than anything you've ever imagined. Maybe I'm too young to understand what love is. Maybe I'm underestimating the full power of love. I may not believe in love at first sight, but I do believe in happy endings, and not missing the sunrise and sunset.
